Hi,

I'm looking to get a tunnel tent with a SIG, with 3 bedrooms, need to sleep 5/6 people, on a budget of £120-£180, any one got any good recomendations?

Cheers in advance

Steve

You should be able to get a Vango Oregon 600 within your budget. Although I don't know how comfortably it would sleep 5/6 people, you may need to look at 8 berth tents.

Hi steve,
I would be tempted to find the tent that will do what you
require in the £300+ bracket and then check out the second hand ones to find it.

Have a look at the kyham ontario 8, nice tent, good size, full sig, can convert to 1, 2, 3, or 4 bedrooms, price approx £160.

We got a Vango Oregon 800 for £174.95 including delivery.  With bedrooms at each end which can be split into two with dividing curtains that might suit you. Needs to be well ventilated though, its absolutely dripping inside this morning after hubby & daughter spent the night in the garden,

Hi

Make sure you have all the vents open, ie the ones in the top corners of the flysheet on the smaller bedroom end, the ones above the windows AND the one at the back of the larger bedroom end and this should sort the condensation problem out.  Hubby and I spent the weekend at the end of June/July in our 600 and despite all the bad weather we didn't suffer condensation at all because the vents were unzipped.

I too would recommend the Oregon 800, although we have a 600 the 800 is just the same only that bit bigger - great tent for a great price.

I've unzipped and pegged out the vents. With regards to the window vents which are mesh at the top, is it ok to close & zip up the inside flaps or do I need to roll them up? Also, any tips to combat the "glare" in the morning - the light panels in the roof are far too light for a summers morning!

Hi Theresa

We closed the window 'curtains' at night for obvious reasons but rolled them right up during the day to allow maximum ventilation and light in.

Sorry no tips on the light except an eye mask perhaps?  It's certainly something I shall be purchasing before our next trip!

Clare
