As a novice camper i need some advice on a tent purchase. I have recently bought a tent from argos but took it back due to the poor quality.
I have now seen a tent I would like a QUECHUA T6.2 XL AIR and would like some recommendation on it.
Does anyone have this tent. We have three children so we need space, warmth and comfort. i would also like to know if its easy to put up. we are looking for a tent which as a ground sheet (sewn in) or a ground sheet with the mud flaps that go around the tent. to keep the heat in and the bugs out!
Any advice, information which be much appreciated!
And thanks in advance!

HI we also looked at that one but bought the Vango Vail SIG, 3 bedroom areas and a good size porch, more money but I think it will stop us buying a smaller one and then deciding its too small and buying again! £305 at go at the moment. Hope this helps?
I think you will find that most campers on here will advise you to go for a well proven brand, such as vango, outwell, kyham, etc, Find a good make, then choose your model to suit your circumstances, ie.. dome , tunnel, frame, sig, non sig , number of bedrooms, And within your budget, Dont rush out and jump at the 1st one you like, Ask lots of questions on here, and you,l get the picture. good luck and hope you make the right choice.

how much do you want to spend, how many bedrooms do you require, that will give people a better idea of what to reccomend.

Thanks for all your replies we have found this one Vango Vail 700 Family Tent that we like is it any good?
I am looking for a family tent i have three young children a 9 year old, 5 year old and one who is nearly one. So we need warmth and space is this tent recommended?
is it easy to put up? is it going to keep us dry? do tunnel tents lose thier shape in strong winds? and will it last? (it does say there is a life time guarantee?) i have seen this for £305 is it a good price?
its a very nice tent and excellent quality, i think tunnels are fine in wind as long as they are guyed out well.
Im sure your family will be warm and dry in that, cant help with the pitching as i havnt had that model, plenty on here have tho, someone will be along with tips shortly im sure.
There was another post on here somewhere about tunnels losing shape, but it really just comes down to pitching a tent, well any tent for that matter, the correct way. We had to put up our Vermont L and it was so windy we didn't think we would be able to pitch it. We only had half the guys rigged up and the frame never budged. Normally, we would have it pitched properly but only had to check on something so it wasn't going to be up long.
The Vango Vail 700 was our second choice. I think the fabric on the inners are real nice and it has great windows. I don't think I ever saw water in the display after heavy rains either and I believe it comes with a lifetime guarantee. I've also heard from others that they have great customer servcie and they even came on here to discuss and update a recall on another model.
So they have my vote.
Best wishes.

Hiya all, I'm new here so treat me gently lol.
Ummmm where do I start? Well, we went away for our first ever camping holiday last month, and it was great! I always said I wouldn't go camping as i feel claustrophobic but I was fine. We bought a rage vardo 8 from ebay (no, don't sigh!!) hehe, and it was actually a really good buy! We only paid £60 so expected some leaks etc, but not a drop! We went to Tenby in all the rain and wind last month, and it withstood everything it got chucked at it. Only downside was, it didn't have a SIG and it got damn cold at night, so we left the heater on. As the door was on the back we had to keep taking one of the sleeping compartments down too, which was a bit of a pain, so what I'm basically asking is, can anyone reccomend a tent for us to buy for next year? We're basically looking for (omg hope i'm not expecting too much here) is SIG, seperate bedroom areas so we don't have to keep dismantaling, and a porch. Price range up to about £350. Having three girls it would have to be in the region of a 5/6 birth maybe bigger. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.
Our gelert quebec 8+4 is a good, well made and warm tent. Fairly easy to put up and not too large. We camped 3 times in ours with 3 kids. The pods are already attached so once its up no need to go around fitting groundsheet or inners etc. It around £150 so well within budget.
That sounds great too. Thanks i'll take a look. There are so many lovely looking tents out there, hows a gal supposed to choose lol.
I used to think a tents a tent.................how wrong I was
