hiya

We have not been camping for years (not since we had kids). Am looking at a couple of tents for a trip we are planning. The eurohike electron spectrum or the coleman big cypress tent. They have both got a lot of money off them which is why i chose them. There are two adults and two kids. Are either of these any good? Also wondered why people use windbreaks for camping? sure never saw one of those years ago when we used to camp!!

Thanks a lot

I don't personally use windbreaks generally - although I do have one. It very occasionally gets used to cut the wind around the cooker.

People seem to fence in their pitch (this is MY space) and isolate themselves from everyone else on the site. Whether this is the intention or not, I don't know.

They aren't necessary IMHO

Sorry I can't comment on the tents.

I can't comment on the tents either, I'm new to all this. But as stated above, we use ours to keep the wind off of the cooker.
We have a rage tunnel tent, so we put a gazebo at the end and the wind breaks on one side, and used it as a sort of kitchen/diner. Put the camping stove, table etc out there so the kids didn't make a mess in the tent
