these tents are still available in UK and France, bought one in arques France last week, as a stop over tent ( we have a vango diablo 600 for the main stays) l intended to drop our diablo and use the quecha for our last night as we were not too sure about a dry wrap for the next morning and didnt fancy having to arse round drying diablo tent off again at home as its too big for our garden.
I opened the quecha and it had a draw string missing from vent system and a hole in the side !!!
I went straight back and showed my reciept and they seemed a bit cagy with me ... so I opened the bugger in the shop and showed them !!! that sorted any possibility of a language problem out.
Interestingly enough !!! when the assistant took me to the same rack in store to select a replacement New Tent, she took the first two off the rack and gave me the third one back on the shelf ???? bearing in mind I made it clear I wanted to open the replacement there in store to ensure no other problems. Hmmm I reckon they put the faulty returns on the front of the rack and sell them to the unsuspecting brits HOLIDAYING AND ON THEIR WAY BACK TO FERRY PORT STOPPING OVER AT HYPERMARKET NEXT DOOR who probably buy them and take them home before trying them .... too late to do anything then isnt it !!
Just a timely warning CHECK before you leave france.
Also noticed this year that french prices in euros are now aligned exactly to UK prices so no savings in buying over there - last year they were quite a lot cheaper. BEST REGARDS Jon

I have bought loads of gear for canoeing, running, and general stuff like heart rate monitors for the wife and I , all with no problems (bought in the UK ) I would rather hope that this was not indicative of the companies ethos , but a trait attributable to this store in particular, it gets loads and loads of Brit Campers through the doors and like I say many of them are topping up on the cheap booze, and cheap fuel next door at the Auchan complex.
I think that perhaps it is the work of some unscrupulous personnel in that store, or even lazy staff who cant be arsed putting returned faulty goods to one side , but simply rack em back up awaiting the next unsuspecting victim- preferably a homeward bound brit camper..... like I nearly was !!
strange they are selling the Quecha 3 Air pop up tent on E bay for £78.99 plus £12.0 packaging when you can buy one from the decathlon store for £55.0 , just shows not everything on E bay is a bargain.
The tent is a handy bit of kit for overnighting , or pitching in the rain rather than getting your EG Vango tent sodden trying to put it up (inner tent first) in the pouring rain. this way you can wait for the rain to hopefully bugger off and get your main tent up whilst its dry :)

We have the Quechua 3 second tent and it was fine. Mind you we only stayed in it for 2 nights. A bit small for my liking, I like to be able to stand up when I'm getting my kit on and off!
does the french shop have a 'returns' policy ??? I have heard of people using a tent and then returning it to argos!
i my quechuas, both bought on ebay when they first came out.
My little red one was my first ebay purchase so you could say it cost me a small fortune as it got me into ebay shopping
I don't know if they were even available in the UK decathalon shops at the time. but i 'won' the first one for £41.50 plus £9 p&p. Bargain!

much as i love my quechuas i am pleased to be the owner of a khyam classic now, for just that reason! It was the pop up quecuas that made me think that camping wasn't all bad though
we bought two recently in Chalon sur Saone, we used them on the last night to save having to get our big frame tent down early the morning of our departure. Luckily we tried them out the day before and one of them had a hole in. We took it back, saw the manager who spoke excellent English, swapped it without any problem. They are great tents, our son loves his so much he intends to sleep in it everynight of our french hols from now on.
