 has anyone had any problems with their xxl in the wind with the fereals cheafing on the outside flysheet. or does anyone have any idears on how to stop it. we found the tent great other than the fereals the tent stood up well in the wind didnt leak and the people where we brought the tent from have exchanged it.

Not sure what you mean by "Fereals cheafing " ???

 the metal bits on the poles( where the poles join) where rubbing on the outer fly set in the wind

No I have not had that problem and ours has experienced some nasty weather.  I assume you attached the velcro bits on the fly sheet to the poles (I have forgotten this before) and used all the pegging points and guy ropes ?

 yes we did that but the velco aslo kept coming off. and all the guy ropes where done too. we even got some extra strong tent pegs too as we had wind of up too 35 mph we where camping last week in waxham near the sea. the tent had poles had rubbed in 5 places on the fly sheet. thank you any way

Where was it rubbing  On the bedroom poles or the 3 main ones ?

mainly its rubbing on the bedrooms but a little on all. we where thinking of putting some fabric around the metal bits to stop it.

try gaffa tape to hold the bottom of the poles in place, we have the royal montpellier 12, almost identical to the hertford xxl, and we were also in waxham for the last two weeks and had the same gales...... 2nd week glorious SUN!!!!!!
