As it says, have been to the trade only stoneleigh camping show today.
All makes having their 2008 models on display, and all I can say is its going to be the year of the polycotton :)
Vango, Kyham, Gelert, Robens and Outwell all having new polycotton models for this year - all looking very very nice.
Also - anyone fancied a front extension in polycotton for their outwell lake or sea tent? It's coming :)
Most impressive of all for me was the Gelert new polycotton range, it looks great. Zip in ground sheets, small pack sizes and great looking quality. Nice light tan colour too.
I have pics (and some RRPs) but not sure if I should post...

thanks, loved looking at those, reckon Outwell will have stiff competition, I for one am going to wait now to see these new tents for myself before buying for France next year. Is that last one (pic 1503) a QE with SIG??

They improve year on year. Much like computers. Just get what suits you at the moment rather than waiting for the 'next' one.
The 2007 are cheap now, so give it a couple of years and upgrade to the new 2009 models!

It's no wonder I never get enough sleep with all these new tents to check out. Any idea when we ordinary mortals can start to see them erected. I'm too old-fashioned and don't like buying until I can walk round it in and see what it's like.------------- Fiona

Nor none of the other Outwell Gear, sure it will be all up on line shortly. Have heard about the Khyam to. Looks good but do not like Khyam's build quality personally even with the QE with SIG. Great pics Itguy, Thanks for the pic of my new Trout Lake and canopy. If the Trouts that good will get a Wolf lake to replace our Montana I think to. No mentions either of the new Ohio either on the web.
A kiddies bedroom pod with matching accessories, I have heard on other forums.Post last edited on 03/09/2007 23:53:22

Is that a polycotton vango vail in pic 1479?
Someone wrote on another post that they went shopping for a tent and the Vail was one of their top choices but didn't buy it because the salesman said it was being discontinued due to leaking problems.
Thanks for sharing, enjoyed the pictures.

Pic 1479 - yep - sure is.
All of the tents in the photos i've posted are polycotton. The vango one is HUGE!
The new kyham with SIG as shown in the last picture didn't look like it had the plastic 'knuckle' assembly system that the other khyams do. Canvas was v. thick on it too - much more so than the Gelert and Vango ones.
I'd say that the canvas quality from my viewings yesterday goes...
