Sue, you have such a great spirit!

One thing to add to your list is a cheap bucket if you can fit one. I got the small one from Wilco's for 65p. It's great for packing small things and then I use it at camp sometimes to wash up my face or dishes or use it to carry dishes to washing area. Plus, it's always good to have a bucket of water just in case.

I do know that Campingaz has a stove and lantern set for about 20 quid. Don't know if you need a . If you get one that needs batteries, go to the pound shop, they last a good while as do Asda cheapies. Also, you can get some great things from the pound store for camping.

For cheap eats, it's always a canned meal. Asda has the bags of instant mash for 16p and they taste great. Add some bread and yummy. You can do this with stewed meat, chicken, chili and is so convenient. If you can swing a 2 burner you can always keep your kettle on one and the all in one can meal on the other. Also, oatmeal is a good cheap breakfast as well, quick too. We're still learning about all the good camping foods and it's been fun.

For a car top carrier, check ebay and other classifieds. The older light grey ones go cheap. If you want the updated look, get some black rubber spray paint and it will look just like new. That's what we were going to do because we needed cheap too and I won't pay for a new one even if I could.

I know you will have a great time camping, let us know how it all goes and of course when you get your tent.

They do accept dogs and have a dedicated dog walk through the woods, dogs must be under control though as they have a paddock with miniature ponies in it, the best thing to do is ring first, if you google Coed Cottages they have their own website
