As far as I am aware a fitted ground sheet "Tub" style is a fitted ground sheet that has a rise up the sides.

Giving this shape

rather than this shape
________

So there is less chance of water going onto the ground sheet as the sides are covered by the flysheet which will come down lower than the up sections (if you understand that).

Feel free to correct me if wrong :)

ZIG stands for zip in groundsheet

SIG stands for sewn in groundsheet

RISER stands for - a clip in groundsheet that rises a few inches up the inside of the flysheet.

TUB - as riser.

These are normally the way people describe how the groundsheet attaches to the flysheet.

I am toying with the idea of devising my own riser GS for our Vaude Opera weekend tent - it does not have mudflaps and was definitely a bit drafty when we used it the other week. Also it would mean we could pitch it and drop it as one without having to take teh bedroom down each time.

Think it will be my little project for winter.
