We are a family of 7, 2 adults, 5 kids, we have a royal montipellier 9 tent which we are really pleased with. For next year we are thinking of getting the royal montipellier 12 man tent, which has 4 sleeping areas. Has anyone got any other recommendation for a 12 man tent with 4 sleeping areas?
Thanks
Debbie

stick with what you know we have the montpellier 12 and the amount of space is terrific world of camping sell them for £200 a lot of tent for the money and you also get a free canopy and wind break as well.
and as you will already know the quality is very good........happy hunting.

------------- a tent is for life not just for two weeks
Out of interest, why do you want a 12 man tent for 7 of you ?
We are also a family of 7 (2 adults + 5 kids), and have recently upgraded from a Wild Country Homestead 5 (fine when there was just 6 of us) to a Wild Country Halo 104. This is plenty big enough for us all, sleeping 10 in 3-4 separate compartments: mum and dad have one compartment with it's own "dressing room", and we put 3 kids in one compartment, and 2 in the other. The sleeping areas are all designed to take x persons on full size airbeds, so are actually quite generous - on smaller airbeds you can fit in more. There is also a central living area, which has a sewn-in groundsheet, and can sleep 4 more if nec (that's 14 in total). There is also then a large porch with separate groundsheet, which is ideal for cooking and storing outdoor items. To be honest, if it was any bigger it would probably not fit in either a car or a campsite !
I know everyone has their own favourite brands and features, but we would certainly recommend Wild Country - well made, well designed, great service/backup, and the reassurance that their tents (Terra Nova versions at least) are regularly seen up Everest.

Thanks for all of you advise so far, the reason we want 4 pods is because we have 4 girls ages 1 - 11 and 1 boy age 8, the older children need their own space. I shall look at the tents you have recommended.
Thanks so far
Debbie

HI we are also a family with 2 adults and 5 children, The Montana 12 appeared to be a fantastic tent with acres of room for us all, but unfortunately we had 2 bad leakers and one with dodgy stitching. With regret we decided to change and bought a Wild Country Homestead 105 which also has loads of room. It is shown as having 4 rooms, 2 sleeping 3 and 2 sleeping 2, however we find the rooms are very spacious. We currently have 3 boys age 9-13 in one of the 2 berth rooms and my husband and myself and our 6 year old twins in a 3 berth room. We leave out the other 2 berther and use that space and the other 3 berther for storage!
There is no porch on this tent, but our style of camping tends to be very much outdoor, and inside for sleeping, though the living space would be roomy enough if we had to sit in it.
I also found that I could pitch this tent on my own if I had to (provided there was no wind!), and pitching it with 2 people (1 adult 1 child) was very easy.
