Hi again

Still researching which tent to purchase and was wondering if any of you own a Vango Aurora 400 and would mind letting me know its pros and cons?  Went to our local Towsure and they only had the 600 on display, it seemed massive!

Also, is there anywhere else can i look in the Hampshire area other than Towsure and the small camping shop in West End/Swaythling??

Sorry for all the questions-but thanks in advance to any kind campers that reply!

Now you come to mention it, thats the tent that my brother has got! Vango are a great make. It's a spacious tent for 2, (4 would be cosy!!) You can fit a double air bed in the bedroom, but no extra room in there for storage! The Outwell side canopy fits onto it nicely for extra space on wet days! (note that the vango canopy doesn't fit this model!)

I know it's a bit far, but there is anexcellent tent display at the camping shop near me in Chichester! They have Vangos and Outwells up on display from about the end of March, although they have a few up now!

Hi,

I'm in Southampton too.  Go to Campers and leisure which is alongside oakdene holiday park, Ringwood Road, St Leonards, Ringwood - they had loads of tents on display last year and The Forest Camping Centre behind John Browns Garden centre, Ringwood Road, Three Legged Cross which is not far from the other one.  We popped in late last year but they didn't have anything on display but I saw a large empty field where presumably they put their tents.  Probably need to go in the spring for that one,

Teresa

Hello Homebird,

The Forest Camping Centre was a bit of a disappointment a couple of weeks ago, it looks like it is either closing down or is having a major overhaul. No tents up and not really much interest from the staff, having said that it was very cold so maybe I am being a touch unfair!

The Campers and Leisure place was much better and has about half a dozen tents up with the promise that the full range will be on show by the end of February. Very helpful chap (I am a complete new boy at this game) who actually took some time to talk to me and so I will be going back in a couple of weeks.

Rather fancy the Vango Orchy meself !!

Hi Trifecta,

The Forest Campin Centre is having a grand reopening in March - I think I saw it on their website, so hopefully there'll be lots to look at then,

Thanks for that Homebird. Just checked and it is on the weekend of the 15th and 16th of March (which is ridiculously close to Easter this year) and the first 50 shoppers get a "goody bag".

Now if I can just pick a site that we ALL agree on it should be great.....
