I have decided that we will get a footprint for our kyham ontario 8. I know that you can cut groundsheets to fit, but I like the idea of having fit the tent exactly. But I can't find one any where, some one told me that they had one, but on every online shop I have looked at (including kyham own site) there didnt seem to be one.

Can any one advise me about this, thanks in advance.

I don't think "Khyam" do footprint groundsheets for beneath their 'pole & sleeve' S.I.G. tents. Given the current fad for using footprints under S.I.G.s, it certainly seems that they're missing a trick... However, it isn't too difficult (and probably a lot cheaper) to sort one out yourself. Just buy a cheap tarpaulin (at "Homebase", "Wickes" or similar) and cut it to size, an inch or two (25mm.-50mm.) smaller all round (to prevent water between the groundsheets) than your tents footprint, peg it down at each corner with groundsheet pegs, then pitch your tent over that... Hey Presto, sorted!...

Have a look here... Clicky!

You may have to "translate" your tent to it's equivalent 2008 model, but they will tell you where you can buy them.

Try here. Scroll to the bottom and they give you a price. They call it the Kansas 8 but its only because that colourway is only sold at outdoor megastore.

We got the Khyam footprint from our local camping shop when we bought our Ontario 8 (they threw it in as a freebie to ensure we bought the tent from them!) so you can definately buy them.

They're in stock at Catterick Caravans in North Yorkshire (bit far from you though)

The new Quebec 8 is exactly the same size as the Ontario 8 so this footprint will fit.

They help to protect the SIG and keep it clean. Also another layer of insulation between you and the ground.
It's far easiesr to stuff a dirty footprint groundsheet into a bin bag and hose it down when you get home than it is to try and wash and dry the under side of your tent!
