Can anyone help please,

We've been looking for a new tent & have fallen in love with the Hartford xxl,  We've got 4 kids & eldest is taking her boyfriend when we go away in the summer, so we need a large tent. I also want one with built in groundsheet as last year our let in the rain!!

Has anyone got one of these? If so how long does it take to put up & are they really good value for money? The cheapest i have found one for is £350?  Any advice much appriciated. Lou x

Hi we have the xxl and we have the porch extension giveing us loads of room. from getting out of the car to siting down with a cup of tea it takes us about 2 to 2 1/2hours, I know that sounds a long time but we are also trying to keep an eye on our two toddlers. it has been up in about an hour with no kids and no porch (which only takes 10 mins).
To be honest we love this tent and the room it gives us. if you are thinking about this tent i would look into getting the add on porch it gives you so much more room on rainy days.

Hi

I have an XL for about 5 years and it has been great.  Lots of room to sit inside in bad weather.  We reckon 2 sleepers to a pod - really not room for three.   Fantastic tent but does take a while to put up and down (kids can be very helpful, or not!) - not difficult, just a lot of it!

Mine has stood up to a lot of bad weather and last year I managed to break several poles in a bad storm.  Remember to take spare pole sections and repair kit.

Your other option is to buy a more modestly sized main tent and have smaller tent(s) as annexes for some of the kids to sleep in.  It could mean more flexibility in the future if some/all of the offspring don't come with you.
