Anyone tried it? We saw it today at a tent display & it looks great (if not rather HUGE!). Experiences would be interesting to hear.....someone must have splashed out on this tent?!

Hi Badger
Yes we got the Vermont L last year, and although only myself and hubby love
the space it offers. We have now put it up several times and seem to be getting quicker! I cant fault it. It really depends what your looking for!
We've got the XL. We bought the 2007 version last year and as far as design and space is concerned we don't think you can go wrong. We don't bother with the wardrobe as this just takes space up in the living area but that's just our choice. The bedroom layout of the 2007 was great - we were in the middle with one kid either side. However, the 2008 is even better as they can now have equal sized bedrooms (even if ours has shrunk). We acquired the 2008 model at the NEC. Unfortunately the 2007 version leaked at all the seams so we had to return it. When considering a replacement we couldn't find another model that equalled the Vermont for comfort and use. The spacious front porch is great to keep the kitchen stuff in (and I suppose we could even cook there in bad weather. We used it in France last year and had the front canopy up nearly all the time. The tent was admired by all who passed so no wonder they're like rocking horse do daa on the moon this year!
Can't wait to get out and try out the new one - first trip booked for Whitsun.
Thanks guys, we saw it & love the space, but currently we are only 2 adults, a baby & a dog...but hoping to expand over the next few years, so we want to get something that will last!

and have currently used this for 1 week over the easter holiday and have just returned from a weekend at unity farm.
the tent is spacious and will stand up to some very bad winds however for some reason my tent decided to shead a leak and i dont mean around the main seams as would be expected, this leak was away from the seam and seamed to be a thin material section as it appeared to be a tear but with out the hole.
the tent had a massive soaking the first week we used so its not due to first time use have contacted the shop where i bought it from and they say they will send it back to outwell.
as for the extension iam kind of in 2 minds on this as unless there is more than one extension for the vermont xl ours just does not seam to fit properly so any advice on this would be great or pictures of how to attach the extensions i dont like the way the extension guy lines are ment to go so wont use it untill iam sure.
Hmmm, I love the look of the tent, but am concerned about the leaking issues as so many people seem to have encountered a problem. I know that no tent is ever 100% dry...but it does seem to be a real problem with Outwell.................back to the searching then!!
