Hello

I am looking at buying a tent for a weekend away. Read very good things about the VV500. Only thing im not sure about and have read other posts on here is a sewn in groundsheet. Can you fill me in as to what exactly this means, how important it is, and whether the VV500 has one. If not can anyone recommend a tent similar in size to VV500 for around same price (£100).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many Thanks
Sam

Sewn in groundsheet means its attached to the tent itself.

all tents have sewn in groundsheets in the bedrooms, but  some have seperate groundsheets in the living area.

The vango v5 has a seperate one the living area. It is not really of any importance , just a matter of personal choice. Loose groundsheets are probably better for summer camping, sewn in ones maybe less draughty in colder weather. There is a big thread at the top of the tent section page about the pros and cons.

The v v 500 is currently on offer for £59.99 at go outdoors, be quick though, it won't last long at that price. The offer I mean, not the tent.

The groundsheet in the VV 500 is bathtub style, it fasten up to the bottom of the flysheet, so you have best of both worlds, no bugs/ draughts getting in but you can take it off the tent to clean it / pack it away
