We are looking to buy a new tent and are undecided between a sunncamp global 600 and Outwell Montana. I know everyone loves an outwell but what about sunncamp? Please help we want something thats easyish to pitch abd will last longer than our wynnster kestrel that only survived 3 trips.

It just hasn't lived up to the job. One of the poles split over the bank holiday weekend and the groundsheet is ripped round the reinforcements. Don't get me wrong it did exacly what it said on the tin. It kept us dry but I feel it should have lasted a little longer than one week in Suffolk and 2 short weekends in Whitby. When the new tent arrives I am passing the Kestrel on to my parents. After years of pestering I have convinced them to swap a five star hotel in the Carribean for a week in a tent in Suffolk. This Should be fun.

Please let me know how it goes! I think I may have managed to talk my partner in to going with the Sunncamp. The only reservation he has is the erecting of the tent with two young kids and my novice parents. We can do the kestrel in under a hour but the suncamp is bigger. Men!!!!!!!!!!!
Will do, but I couldn't do it today as planned,as not feeling too good last 2 days,( Vertigo again)
my friends are complete novices, only camped two weekends , both times in my tents, which I put up with them. They have 2 toddlers and won't attempt putting the tent up until I can be there to help.

Im the camper of our family (misspent youth at festivals) but my partner is slowly getting in to it. I have to say the bank holiday weekend I told him if I am reincarnated I hope to come back as the wife of Ranulph Fiennes as he will be better at pitching a tent.
I'm new to the site and have been camping a couple of times. This year we are looking to buy our first tent and so I am bumping this message. We are also thinking about the Sunncamp Global 600 and the Outwell Montana 6 (although hubby won't pay that much!).
Is the Global last year's model?

Thanks for the good wishes, I still haven't been able to put this tent up, my friends won't try it alone without me... nervous novices, . but it will definitely be going up the weekend of 27th -29th june as we are all camping with my family that weekend. I still hope to have a practise run before that though, and will keep you informed if we do get it up before then. Will also try to to remember the camera.
I think it must be last years model , to be so cheap. That said, all my tents have been last years model, no problem with that. You still have the same warranty.
