Friends of mine are looking for a new tent. They are couple with 2 toddlers.
They want at least one large bedroom to sleep all of them together, and a smaller one for storage and loo. a large living area with a full sig, not a drop down groundsheet. . A closeable porch area for cooking.
Must be quick and easy to put up for complete beginners..
They have borrowed my sunncamp eden which fitted all their requirements, and want one something like that, but doesn't have to be quite so large or expensive.
Budget is flexible, but as always, the cheaper the better.

i have an outwell sun valley 8 and i think it matches everything you have asked for. we have 2 kids and all sleep together in the 2 large bedrooms at the rear of the tent that unzip into one. this is not the dearest nor is it the cheapest but we find it to be perfect for all our needs. hope this helps...
Thanks Dave, The older sunvalley looks identical to the eden, but can't find it in stock anywhere, the new sunvalley has an open porch canopy, which they don't want.
Our requirements when looking for a tent where exactly same as your friends, we went for the Vango Aspen 700dlx (there are 5 of us). Some people think its awkward to erect but (and we are relative newbies - only been camping once before) we found it really straightforward, porch is huge with more than enough room to leave buggy and kitchen gear. All 3 bedrooms open up though one still leaves a partial divider - thiis is where we put toilet and stored clothes etc. and we were able to put two kingsize blow-up beds in the opened up bedroom with space to spare.
You can get the 500dlx for £239 at jrleisure. The only other tent which we really considered was Khyam Kansas plus sun porch but large bedroom was just too small for 5 but might be worth considering for your friends?

they'll probably only camp at the same time as us anyway, so i'll have to be on hand to help them. they really haven't got a clue when it comes to erecting tents, and it's difficult when she has to keep the babies out of the way, so it really comes down to him and me to erect the tent.
is the aspen inner first though? I don't think I'd recommend it to them if it is, tbh. When we go camping, If I have to to have to put 2 tents up , I'd like them both to be quick erect styles. I think the inner first ones are ajust a bit too much faff for my liking.
Hi Beefysmum, yes the Aspen is inner first and it did put me off at first but the only other tent that gave us similar space and large enough bedroom was Vermont but choked at idea of spending £400+ on a tent :-) The outer goes over really easily, couple of bows and then hooks onto the ring&pins. Can understand wanting something easier though.
Maybe a tunnel tent with Khyam sun porch . There are very few tents that give you one large bedroom plus enclosed porch.
Not sure about the porch aspect of it but this tent seems to fit the bill - Outdoor revolution. I've seen it up and its impressive, as whilst it is double skinned it's flysheet first pitching with an inner that hooks in throughout the whole of the tent. I've seen it on a very hot day and it was significantly cooler than others but am assured that its warmer when cold. The man in the shop also said it was a sinch to put up.

Debbie, I can't honestly remember, but i think it zips through. Worth calling to find out. Got to say it is a nice looking tent, would get it myself but need something bigger still.
Okay Clare, thanks, if they like the look of it they can ring to find out about the bedrooms. isn't it strange they don't show if its divided on the website. It is a nice versatile tent. I hope they do like it, so I can have my eden back .
forgot that they changed the design on the 2008 model but i have found this 2006 model for sale, although it is a bit pricey as i only paid £220 for my 2007 model in jan. must say though after using it over the may bank holiday in that wind and rain it stood up to the elements brill.
Thanks dave, but I think it may be a bit pricey for a first tent for them tbh. Trouble is they been spoilt already, having used the eden , as it does seem to have everything.
