Hello campers, don't want to bore you with a VERY LONG story, but we have just been 'granted' a Coleman Modulus X5 Has anyone managed to erect one from the picture board instructions???? sewn into the bag, not exactly an idiots guide in plain English, help us please ? We had similar problems with the Sahara 4,but thanks to your very informative board,it was easy pezy! Basically can it be pitched with the removable end attached,or should it be put on afterwards, and as we have not unpacked it yet, we have not sussed out all the bits! Is it quite stable minus the att/det b/room,as the photos on the web show no guy ropes at the end, when the bedroom is not attached. We plan to ignore the instructions(haven't got a degree in hirogliffics(??) and pitch,or have a go to,as per the outwell minnesota video,eg peg out at one end, insert poles & pull along & repeat until we reach the other end.Well I am waffling now so I will shut up and hope some kind soul will understand my ramblings and help, before there is murder on the campsite! Look forward to the info with GRATEFUL THANKS x

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
It's basically a tunnel. 2 long poles in the centre (colour coded) and 2 shorter poles over the bedrooms. The front and rear poles should e easy to identify (for the porch)
I suggest putting all the poles in the sleeves (for the front and rear porches, just put in the top section). Then lift up the tent like any other tunnel. Put the poles into place (they're single ended poles sleeves, so you can't go far wrong).
Once the tent is guyed out, put the front and rear porch poles into place, and then affix the centre roof suport pole.
If you want to zip off the end bedroom, you can do, and replace with the panel provided.
Pretty much what Andy said worked for us with an X4. The instructions were appalling and it took a while to figure it out as we'd never put up a tent before.
But once we figured out where everything goes it should be much quicker next time.
We attached the extra bedroom pod first (took me an age to figure out which zip worked for where!) and then inserted the rods - checking to ensure the colours of the rods matched the sleeves. That was pretty much it. Once that was done the only difficult bit was getting the final roof rod in as it is so tight.
Cheers Andyn999,I suppose it will be as clear as mud once we have all the bits out.didn't realise it had a roof support also.As the tent comes with the end section unattached,is it easy to put up without it attached (sorry a bit thick!)or should we attach it,errect it & then detach again,as 9/10 we won't need it,but worried that the flat blank end will suffer if it is hit by gusts(does it have guys attached?)Do you have a modulus? we were also wondering with all the windows do you have much problem with condensation. The Sahara was top notch with all the mesh & space between the fly & inner, that was one of it's plus points, plus the dark material meant you could have a lie in,so that light grey should be an experience at 4am.Oh by the way Coleman are thinking of bringing out foot print ground sheets next year,so that will save taping & joining tarpaulins to size in the future. Thanks once again, appreciate your help & comments x

I've just bought the modulus 7 and found the instructions were rubbish (pretty much as OP has) The only problems I find is that one of the bedroom sections seems a bit odd - it does not sit centrally spaced from the side walls (the elastic supports are tight one side and loose on the other) also the bedroom groundsheet does not sit flat.
In addition to this the roof canvas over the living area seems loose and a bit flappy (not nice and taut as it should be. I've got the poles in the correct colour coded sleeves and fitted the roof tensioner bar and strap.)
Anyone got any ideas please or experience of this tent.
Many thanks.
