Well, the phrase 'You get what you pay for' is ringing in my ears! Having congratulated myself on buying one of the Aldi tents (nice and spacious and I could put it up all by myself) we camped in it this weekend. It leaked like a sieve. Water dripped in through the zips and all around the windows and the roof light. (It definately wasn't condensation). I returned the tent to Aldi once it'd dried out. To their credit, Aldi were great and took it back and gave me a full refund! Has anyone else had problems with their Aldi tent leaking?

Well at least you're honest.Fair play to Aldi,at least you can get something else now.I reckon they must have sold quite a few,perhaps you have been one of the un lucky ones.Hope you have better luck on your next purchase.

I can't comment on this tent, but I bought the previous tent they did, and for the first three days it rained non stop. We only had one drip, and this was where we hung the lantern from the roof hook. As already mentioned, at least you can buy and try with a very quick refund if not happy.
My personal choice for a budget tent would be the Vango Aspen, Five or Seven model, great deals available on this tent at the moment.

good that they had no problem refunding. Its a shame you had such trouble as the spec was very good with a 4000hh. I supppose there are always a few rougue ones in every batch, just a pity it was yours!
We camped in ours this weekend and it leaked we were really dissapointed o/h says we should just get sealent but i think maybe we should return and get exchange
Hi, we bought one as a weekend / overnight tent. Tried for first time at camp site nr Haltwhistle. No problems with leaks despite heavy rain and gusty breeze during the night.
On the tent itself ,think it has a nice feel and a versatile layout, the tent tidies are particularly usefull. Bedrooms are really a little small to be classed as doubles, we removed dividers to accomodate queen size and double size airbeds. Construction quality is not quite as good as some ot the premier brands but for the cost appears to offer good value for money. Regarding leaks around zips although we had no problems it could do with extra velcro patches on lower section of storm seals as wind can blow these back and expose zips. Also pitching in a gusting wind was not as easy as expected (maybe this will improve with a bit practise)

Thanks for the recommendation Bob. Unfortunately I've been banned from tent buying until the end of the season!!! We already have a Vermont XL - I just wanted something smaller for trips without OH and for weekends! I'll certainly look at the Aspen. Thought I found an unmissable bargain last week - a Vango Venture 500 for a ticket price of £19.99 at Millets - when I lugged it to the checkout, they quickly spotted it had the wrong price on it as it scanned in at it's true price of £99.99, and no they weren't prepared to sell it for £19.99!!!
I stuck the Aldi tent up in the garden on Saturday.
Mine also leaks at the zips and at the bottom of the doors as it isn't possible to stop water running in the hole where door meets groundsheet in the corners. However my windows held up to severe water bucket punishment. I'm just hoping it does the same at the festival!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
