We used to camp as a family on the West Coast of France when I was a child and we'd generally pitch under the shade of pine trees. I remember my parents getting quite grumpy about pine sap dripping down from the trees all over the tent and car.
We are off to France again (after a break of 20 years or so) and have requested shady pitches at each of the three campsites we are heading to. We have a new Outwell Wolf Lake tent and I had a few Q's about the dreaded sap.
Does it harm the tent?
How do you get it off the tent?
What do you do to stop it getting on the tent in the first place (big tarp?)?
Are the trees likely to be dripping in September or is it just a mid-summer problem?
Am I being too precious about my new tent?
Any help greatly appreciated,
Jon
