Am new to site and just wanted to let everyone know about our latest bargain.

Went to a Yeomans camping show as we wanted to compare size differnces between the Outwell Hartford XL and its big sister the XXL, and the Nottingham show had them pitched side by side.

After 1 wasted trip due to the weather, (the staff had dropped a dozen tents because of strong winds/ safety issues,) we eventually got to compare them last Wednesday.

The bonus was a sign outside the XXL stating, "Take away on Sunday for £200, buyer dismantles!"

So we are saving £160,and we will have a rough idea about what goes where next time we come to pitch it.

Just wanted to let fellow canvas addicts know that these signs were outside a majority of the tents on display so if you dont mind an ex display model that people have snooped around, the savings can be well worth it.

We are spending out saving on a tent carpet!

Looking forward to trying it out in Warwick in a fortnight.

Sounds good but my only concern would be how long it had been pitched and how much weather/UV damage and people abuse it had taken.

Hope it all works out for you though, good luck!.

Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

If you really want to think about it, find out how long it's been up, some of the retailers indicate that pitched display tents have a life of around 8 weeks before the UV damage destroys the plastic fabric.

Very true, we went to a Yeomans display a couple of years ago and were told by a very helpful member of staff that the life left in the ex display models would be considerably less than an unused new model due to the fact that some of these display models had been up for literaly weeks.
