I can recommend Karsten, We have the 350 with an awning, awning extension, a front wall and our latest addition the rain canopy. You can buy all the bits separately to ease the initial burden on your wallet. It's taken us 3 years to get all of it.
It is not exactly light but it virtually puts itself up in under 15 minutes. Yes that is a 3.5 meter by 3.5 meter tent up and waterproof etc in under 15 minutes. I suppose that is the Ferrari bit but she feels like a Rolls Royce.
Likewise my de waard albatros, best tent in the world on all counts including sheer breathtaking beauty (bit of a bugger banging all them pegs in though...), would not swop for any other tent in the world - bit pricey mind.

If you ignore the Vango inflatable, apparently due next year, there are two synthetic alternatives - Airzone here (although I get the impression that they're going out of business) and The Peridot or Ambience (different companies seem to have the same tent with different names), Jacksons Camping's version is here
Have to say I would like a Karsten, but would also like to see a Cabanon Chamonix in the flesh.
mmmmmm blow up tents great idea if they did a large tent like it i think i might be tempted to get one,,,with me been a no driver its lighter, and easyer to put up for the disabled,, does any one know of a large inflable one,,
why dont they make a conversion kit to go from rigid to inflatable poles,,,,inventers kit needed now,,,,,,,,,

I'm with you on this one. Waiting for a larger inflatable (synthetic for weight issues)
I sadly don't think a conversion kit would work as all the inflatable poles I have seen are significantly bigger (width) than the steel/fibreglass poles they would need to replace.
I await the Vango with interest (but was secretly hoping it was going to be Kyham who did it)

Full Red Indian style wig wam/Tipi ( I already have all three Argos versions)
and an
Outwell Idaho XL ( I have the similar Wynnster Pharoah 6 £150 special price )
I know if I stopped buying cheaper tents I could already have bought the Outwell, but I hadn't discovered it at the time. The Wynnster was the nearest thing I could find to my perfect tent, so I bought it, then the next week I saw the Outwell.
I think that even expensive tents offer good value when compaired to even B&B charges and the freedom camping offers.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
can i have a couple of hunks to pitch it for me? then I would choose a luxury canvas model. LOL!
failing that a ready erected one like in france!
seriously, our first tent was a 3/4 man canvas one with just enough room for us and 3 small children to sleep, and just enough room for us to sit in if we half unhooked bedrooms through the day. we had so many happy camping trips in it. if it rained we had to be really carefull not to touch the sides, but of course in my memory it never did LOL! happy days. I cant imagine we will have as much fun in our new colorado.
------------- Annie :)
