ive been thinking and searching on the message boards. for myself and 2 children with perhaps another child coming with us ocasionally these look good options but which size. i dont want a massive tent as we will only be on a 4 day break at most.should i go for 6 man?

Hi George68 here are few pointers that may help

A rule of thumb is to go for 2 berths more than you need, also is it a mixed group ?

Will you be putting it up alone, not usually a problem as other campers are mostly very helpfull, but worthing thinking about as some tents require more than two even to put up

If the weather turns bad is there room for all of you inside.

that says Yukon or Nevada to me, child goes you have that extra pod, child doesnt go you take the pod away and have extra space and extra door.

Yes I think so too. The Nevada also has a nice rainsaver hood over the side door and I think it has mesh doors on the entry. I know the Yukon does not, cos that is one of the things I looked at when seeking a new "middle" sized tent for us this year.
