Hello all

I'm new to the forum, and new to camping full stop. Have just bought our first tent a royal biarritz 6.  We have just tried unsuccessfully to pitch it in the garden but we're struggling to get the structure right and get the pin and pegs in place, they just seem to keep popping out.

Also can I check that the red poles are suppossed to be the ones that cross in the middle?  Weirdly those 2 don't have colour co-ordinated sleeves even though the instructions say they do.....

Any advice on how best to get the inner tent structure up would be much appreciated

cheers

Hi Hapless,

We used to have a Sassari 6,older version of yours.....

Lay the inner out flat and thread the three main poles through,do not bother at this stage with the pod(shorter) poles just yet,one of you then gets inside and raises the middle whilst other pins the poles.......sometimes it helps if you get a child to hold the pinned pole in position as you pin other end.

Once eyou have the main dome erected stick the smaller poles through their sleeves and pin. Then just peg the inner all round and pull the outer over the top....

Cant help with the colours etc,but would imagine the two reds are the crossover poles.

A great tent the Biarritz, takes a bit of practice, but you will get there....

Good Luck....

Thanks HardyLardy

Will try again just starting with the 3 main poles and get that bit right before moving on.   I think the idea of one person holding the pins in place while you do the other side would help as we haven't been able to keep them in place.

thanks for your advice much appreciated

we can get ours up in around 40 minutes. Less time if there's more than 2 of us.

Put the 2 crossover poles and the front one in first. Then put your pod poles in.

Put the crossover poles on the pins the way Lardy says and the dome should go up easy (be careful though as the pod poles will whizz around in the air until you pin them).Putting the pod poles in to start with was easier for us.

We never bother putting the small poles in the pod vents down by the ground as the first time we tried this i snapped one. The Mrs has the nack for getting them in so i don't bother!
