Hi,

Had 2 weeks of camping in our Outwell Montana 12 2007. Nice and great.

Then we set up the tent in rain, and found that it was leaking like a sieve at allmost every seam.

So we have emailed with our dealer, and they will send the tent to Outwell/Oase.

One problem, when we packed the tent, a kid slipped with some pegs, and punched 3 beep holes in the tent and groundsheet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will still ask for a replacement, since the holes have nothing to do with the leaking.

Anyone else with same experiences?

Best regards

Jens Jakob

Just uploaded video of leaking montana 12 on video.google.com:

Hope that Outwell / Oase will stand up to their warranty (This is our second Montana 12, that is leaking heavily)

Jens,

Should the dealer not relace the tent as you bought it from them ?.  They should then take it up with Outwell.

For info, we have had problems with both the 2007 Sun Valley and 2007 Vermont XL leaking.  Stuck with Outwell and we now have the 2008 Vermont XL,  tested well and truly in France over the last 3 weeks.  One tiny drop from one seam with was fixed with a little seam sealer.

Have to say that the seams appear different in this later model, but we are glad we stuck with Outwell.

Good luck

Just got back from 8 days in a very wet Cornwall. Rained every day, sometimes torrential and only leaked slightly at one seam near the porch. Sealed it when it was dry with the supplied sealant and was fine after that.
I was actually surprised how well it stood up to all the rain.

ps. Montana 12 2007 + universal extension

Also just back from shortened holiday in Cornwall - very wet and windy. Our Nevada L also leaked like a sieve from the seams. Prior to going away we had noticed that the seams on the top half of the tent were mouldy but had no time to send it back - I think they just let the water straight through. The video from Jens is great - its exactly where ours leaked from, although ours also came straight through the roof.

I am told Outwell is the brand leader so want to stick with them but still drying out!

Us too!! We got a full refund even though the shop we bought it from didn't bother to send it back to Outwell in Denmark.

Very impressed and hoping that our new Vermont XL doesn't leak!
