Hello!!

Nice to meet you all! This is my first post.  I have trawled through the message board trying to find the answer to my question but I can't find it so thought I would post the question.

I bought my first tent at the weekend - a Vango Yukon 600.  I have it beautifully pitched in the garden and it looks fantastic! Love it!  As I'm new to this tent pitching malarky, one question I have is how on earth do you put up the doors so they act as a canopy???

2 poles came with the tent and I've figured out that the pins on the end of the poles stick through the holes in the door and then the poles somehow stand up to prop up the door as a canopy but I can't work out what holds the poles upright.

Please can anyone shed any light on this?

PS Many many thanks in advance and thanks to you all for posting on this brilliant forum.  Just a week ago I was tentless and I didn't know what SIG or EHU meant! I've learnt so much in one week from this forum!!

Hi, welcome to UKCS

Once you've put the pegs through the rings on the canopy you need some long guy ropes to loop over the pin and guy it down

Hello

Yes, there were extra guy lines - thought they were just spares but that does make sense now!!

Thank you to you both for all your help!! Will give it a try once this horrible scottish rain stops (probably in 2011!)

when it does start to rain dont forget to drop the canopy down, as it will soon fill up with water and put a lot of strain on the tent

Just to add, if it rains you can bring the feet in a foot or so, angle the poles, tighten the guys, this will effectively drop the front of the canopy and it will act as a porch and drain off the front
