Hi all! My OH and I have very recently taken up camping, perhaps late starters as we are middle aged but I'm loving every minute! I stumbled across this website while researching which tent to buy and I must say you have all been very helpful with your hints and tips. I feel as if I know some of you personally! Anyway, after much research, and being only the two of us, I bought an Outwell Montana 4 from Blacks. We've so far had two weekends away which were great, but wet, obviously! Therefore, after listening to comments on here, I decided to buy an extension for cooking under etc. However, I now discover that Montana 4s are no longer being produced and I cannot find the extension available anywhere! Apparantly the Minnesota 4 extension will fit but is a different colour and without the stripes at the bottom (yes guys, these things DO matter!). I have posted a wanted advert but I'm not sure how often these are read so if anyone can help or can point me in the right direction of someone who may have old stock available I really would be grateful!

Outwell only started doing the extensions last year (firstly for the Monty 6 then others followed this year).
As far as I am aware they didn't do one for the monty 4. They stopped doing the Monty 4 and the minnie 4 took over from it. I think they did the canopy though, you may be able to get a second hand one from some where?

I've got the extension for the minnesota and the canopy for the montana. After using the extension, i wouldn't use the canopy again. Dont really notice the colour - see my profile pics. If you don want the canopy, you can buy mine!

Thank you for your offer to buy your canopy but I can see from your piccies that the Minnesota extension looks great! I can certainly see the benefit over the canopy. Many thanks indeed for your help and advice!
After happy campers recommendation we bought the extension for our Monty.
Just come back from 4 weeks in Chamonix and it was fantastic. Have used the canopy there before but thunderstorms in the alps are something else and decided that we needed more cover.
The canopy was brill. Could cook and sit outside no matter what the weather was doing.
I was bothered about the colour match but it looks fine and we got lots of comments about it being a great tent from fellow campers.
On happycampers recommendation I also bought the extension! Will be using it for the first time at the weekend in the Cotswolds! Pity you're not on commission happy campers!

Hi I have a Montana 4 with canopy
Very pleased with the canopy to be honest
Just been looking for more accessories and found the Montana 4 is no longer made :(
Just to check you say the Minnesota 4 canopy fits?
Does it have a door at the front or is it open?
Also won't the Montana 6 extension fit the montana 4?
Theres a 'Mini' extension on ebay right now. Its going for £91 - £16 more than it costs brand new! I was going to have a pop myself, but not at that price!
I have just bought a second hand Montana 4 with a canopy but would love the front extension (or even the awning at a push). Does anyone have one for sale, or know of where I could get one? On eBay at mo but very expensive!
