Need advice please!  We have  Khyam Tourer 200 which we love as it has a really big living area and is easy for the two of us to erect.  However, we really want to upgrade and buy a tent with a SIG.  We have recently bought an Outwell Oregon 3 as a weekend tent and are very happy with it and were keen on the Outwell Minnesota 4 until reading various threads on here re sleeves not fittting properly, having to use cable ties to hold bits and most of all - about leaking!  We really liked the look of the Minne - the bedroom area is nice and big and living area good too. Especially like the canopy over the door to keep rain out as that is our one gripe with Outwell is the slope of the doors - our son has the Trout Lake and he loves it except the angle of the doors.

Any thoughts, advice gratefully received please!

Sorry I can't help but I just wanted some adviseon the Kyham Tourers.

We are hoping to get the 400 for a weekend tent and have been trying to get someone to give us an idea of if it's any good or not.

Would you recommend them? Easy to pitch etc etc.

Hi dadsbeaniemad

Yes, I can recommend the 200.  It takes us 20 minutes to pitch the tent and the living space is excellent.  We have had ours for 3 years and the only reason we want to sell it is because we want a tent with a sewn in groundsheet. As there are only two of us, the 200 is more than big enough for long trips away and we bought a small Outwell Oregon 3 for weekends.  Recently spent a week in the Cotswold and pitched the tent in a really high wind - no problems!

Hope this helps.

Have a look at the Outwell Nevada M,similar to the Minnie4,but the front is much straighter.

I've got the Minnesota 4, and did look at the Nevada M. We decided on the Minny as it has steel poles, and the Nevada was just too big for just the two of us. We have found that the more we put it up and issue with the uneven material seems to resolve itself a bit more. I think it stretches a bit. We did have a slight leak, although it had been raining non-stop for 24 hours and a couple of people went home in the night. So I think that I was pleased with its performance! You've read all about the cable ties which sorts out the problem fine. The sloping sides are a bit annoying. Particurly if its raining you can't get out the front door or you get wet. But you can use the side door so its fine.

As much as there are lots of issues with the tent we love it. It's the perfect size for me and my boyfriend. Also you can get the extension for it, and I don't believe you can get one for the Nevada? Out of all the tents we looked at we felt it was the perfect one and the only one we really liked, shame it has a few issues!

Hi Lou447

Thanks for your frank and honest reply - much appreciated and given us food for thought.  We are going to our local camping outlet this weekend and will have another good look at it as I do like the size.  Thank you for your time.

Margie
