Hi everyone. I am new to this site and have found it very informative so far.

I have camped for the last five years or so using an Outwell Hartford M. My husband and I bought it from Norwich Camping on a whim as a replacement for a pretty rubbish Gelert tent. It has been nothing short of superb. It is strong, spacious and an all round excellent tent.

We went camping in it again this weekend for the bank holiday - it was our first camping trip in a while as we now have a new addition to the family in the form of a nine month old baby daughter. I must admit, I had to be persuaded to go camping with her but it all went very well indeed and we had a superb few days away, she adapted to it very well.

So....whilst we still love our Hartford, we discovered this weekend that we may need a little more room now it's not just us. We have therefore started researching for a new Outwell tent and my husband is leaning toward a Georgia XL. I like the look of it too, however I just wondered if anyone could recommend any alternative brands we should be considering too? Above all else, we want excellent quality and lots of space. We're willing to pay up to £500 approx if it means we get a tent that can last us through the next few years and cope with any further additions to our family! I am very loyal to the Outwell brand but don't know enough about alternative brands to totally write them off.

First of all welcome to the forums.Outwell IMO are the best lightweight tents. If you feel inclined to look at other makes,Coleman and Vango are pretty good.
Have you had a look at the Outwell Vermont range, M,L,and XL.There is also the Sunvalley 6 and 8 which are spacious and the Idaho L and XL.If you want to spend a bit more there are the Outwell Polycotton Range, all the names end in'Lake'.

Hi

We bought our new Outwell Georgia XL at the end of last week! Couple of pics on my gallery images. Loads of room, no leaks, we got it back in the bag too! Love it. On offer at Yeoman's at the minute for around £250 so lots cheaper but that hasn't stopped me buying all sorts of other bits to go with it! We bought the carpet and with a 9 month old baby this would be great...it really felt quite warm on the floor! Only thing we can't get hold of is a footprint but we made do at the weekend with various other odd tarpaulines made life easy when it came to packing up a clean dry tent inspite of the muddy field!

We would recommend it

We've had a Wynnster tent for the last 3 years and have been very pleased with it. The build quality is superb and there are lovely little touches that make it a delight to use. We've just gone out and bought an Outwell (but only because we got a very very good deal on it) however I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Wynnster in the future if the design and price were right. Definately worth a look, in my opinion.
