  I would definately agree with that thing about families and holidays, our family is one of those in question.  We have gone abroad for two weeks most years, then last year got into camping just as a laugh with friends, thinking it would be a 'cheap' weekend away in addition to our main holiday.

  Camping as we have discovered is not 'cheap' simply because we surprised ourselves by absolutely loving it and have very quickly become addicted and bought all the kit including upgrading onto our third tent already. 

  We thought that after this year, we would have all our stuff, but thats an understatement by half, nobody tells you it doesn't stop there and this year on the shopping list is a kitchen larder and either an extension, tarp or utility tent, mmmmmmmmmm it doesn't stop.

  We have made the decision that next year we want to go camping instead of abroad, okay the recession/credit crunch is part of that decision (including trying to get the crdit card down, after all the camping purchases we've made!!!!) but the main decision is that we have chosen to spend longer than a weekend away, because we love the whole package with camping, you all know what I mean.

  So yes, pricing up for a week at Springbank and a week in August (as well as all those weekends) will be probably be a third to a half of what we have spent on a holiday abroad.

  Anyhow it now gives me an excuse to say I need these things now and not in the new year!
