Hello!

We have a Nevada L and have the same problem as others have had, in that the porch pole exerts a lot of stress on the tent!

Is the only way round this to shorten the poles? Has anyone done it? if so how much did you chop the poles by?

I really cannot see how shortening the pole will help and it strikes me that it may even make it worse.

I'm not sure what the solution for the Nevada is. On the Minnesota you can cable-tie the brackets to the uprights (see my gallery); but on the Minny the uprights are steel and can take this - I'm not sure that the Nevada's fibreglass poles can.
