Hi, can anyone tell me what the difference is between a 'weekend' tent and a 'family' tent. The Vango Icarus is called a weekend one but looks to be a similar size to the orchy which is called a family one?? Thanks

ah, right that makes sense, we are off for a weeks camping and thought about the vango icarus but was worried as it was called a weekender and didn't know if it would be suitable for a week, there will be two adults, one child and a small dog in the icarus as our 18 yr old wants to take his own tent for sleeping, also thought about the vango extension to make it bigger. Thanks for your reply
For one family, a tent may be too small. For another it may be too big.
Everyone has a different wishlist
Some want standing room and others dont
Some want a SIG and others dont
etc etc
Its all about personal choice :)
An extension to give a little more space is always a good idea or use a tarp as an outdoor cooking area or somewhere to sit and hide from the rain (or if you are very lucky.. sun!!!) lol
Whatever tent you use, hope you have some great trips :)
