Bit of an update - Vango are collecting the tent today and say they will turn it round in 5 working days. Better had do as we are off to the lakes at the end of May!
I have asked for a replacement, not a repair which I think is only fair. I have also asked if they will send a smoke/black rather than the laurel one as I am not impressed they wont be supplying a laurel tunnel extension until next year.
Hope you get a better example this time

Hi, I have just purchased the Tigris 800....can anyone advise me what to buy to extend the side door (the one with a canopy) a extention, a sun canopy or something else!! I have had conflicting advice so Im really not sure what to get for the best!! Or should I just put whatever I get on the opposite door? Help!!
As I understand it you do need the tunnel extension or tunnel canopy, however it fits the side door that doesn't have the little canopy bit. Also the tunnel extension only comes in blue, so if you've got a green version of the tent you're stuffed!! You can get the tunnel canopy (without the door) in green.

Another example of Vango not knowing their own products, they told us it would only fit on the side without the little canopy bit!
Still waiting for next year when we can have a sage one!

Might be worth giving leisure trail solent ago , their websire is poor , but they managed to supply me with the correct canopy in stock (although in smoke) , but they also managed to supply a six pole winbreak in sage which a friend was struggling to find ... give'em a call ....you never know !
We bought the blue tent however we went to 2 different tent shops and got conflicting advice....Vango were no help either so thank you! Off to track down the entention now

The reseller were assured by Vango that there was a 5 working day turn around on repairs so I had the tent collected last friday. I phoned to check the progress today and the reseller checked with Vango for me.
Apparently they should never have quoted 5 days as they have "pallets of returns that havent even been checked in yet". Says something about the state of quality control at the moment.
What the hell is going on? You cant phone Vango as you only get the "we are very busy please call back" message. I have my main holiday booked for the end of May so I simply have to have a tent by then.
Does anyone have any experience of dealing with Vango? I am really getting concerned now.

You need to shortcut the system a little and get hold of a direct line number to someone at Vango, I suggest as senior as you can get , ideally a director or product manager. Explain your dilema and that it is being played out on this forum .
As I originally stated , this should have been the responsibility of the retailer and that they should have exchanged or refunded as in the terms of the Sale of Goods Act , and then it would have been their responsibility to deal with Vango . However , have faith , as I believe Vango are a sincere company to deal with ,this is probably their busiest period for returns ,especially on new models where production faults are more likely to occur . Be cheeky and see if they will throw in something extra for your inconvinience and stress.
Did you contact Vango via their 0844 number? Try making contact via the parent company AMG group that has a syandard lindline number, link on Vango aftersales page at bottom.

I am a bit confused, is it the retailer dealing with this for you, or Vango direct? If it is the retailer surely they should let you have a replacement and then they deal with Vango?

I put our Togris 800 up for the first time this weekend in the garden and all appeared OK. However, getting it back in the bag wasn't going to happen in a month of (sunny) Sundays. The bag is too heavy and unwieldy with the tent, poles and inners in it anyway!

The shop that I bought the tent from replaced it for me. I have had a full week in the new tent and was very happy with it. The tunnel extension is a must though!
