I didn't think of that when buying at the carpet. Doh!

Having just had a quick look on the internet, there are a couple of reasons why it could be cheaper. The first one could be the colour. I know for sure the carpet for the Dakota is green and matches the tent. Maybe the carpet for Utah is blue, as was the Utah. And, as it seems the Utah has been discontinued this could be why the carpet for it is cheaper.

Also, in the pictures for the Utah, the porch section seems to be the other way round from the Dakota, so the carpet for the Utah may not actually fit the floor plan of the Dakota (does that make sense?).

Good to see you bought the Dakota. It is big but I'm sure you'll love it and it will be worth it. I'm planning to have another trip away in July and cannot wait to be in my lovely new tent again. It really is fab.

Enjoy!

A mate and I put the tent up today (not guy ropes, just the structure and a few pegs.
Not bad at all, only took about 25 mins and a lot of that was spent on the poles for the side porch which appeared to be far too large but went in eventually.

Also, I note that there are poles to hold the door open when it's raining - something that had concerned me (after I'd payed my money)

The biggest problem we had was getting the air out of the tent to roll it up, a near impossible task which took longer than putting the tent up!

Yes, I think the Utah is the mirror image of the Dakota although if you google about a bit you will find that the Utah was made like the Dakota during 2008.

Almost certainly. I have the Dakota 6 and the diagram shows the same dotted line which divides the bedrooms.

I can't imagine that they would allow the rooms to be merged in the 6 and not the 4.

My Dakota 6 is far bigger than I expected and I think my wife and I, travel cot and two alsation dogs would have fit in the Dakota 4.

I've bought the Utah 6 carpet from 2008 which I was assured also fits' the Dakota 6.
Looking at the box, the front picture shows the side entrance on the right but the diagram and the reverse shows the entrance on the left (unless it is 'worms eye view')

Anyway, allweathers.co.uk have the Dakota 6 carpet for 45 at the moment. Just my luck!
