I'm reading a lot of comment on here about quality issues with Outwell ( particularly the Classic Polycottons ) - Must admit as a BL6 owner - Im finding this odd ???
Lots of members very very happy with their tents - but equally lots of complaints - just wondered if anyone has had direct contact with Outwell - they dont publish a contact number - just hope that all the problems reported have been attended to.
I had a couple of small issues with my Vango - but again they are not contactable - they have a phone number - but its just an answering machine
I find it appauling in this day and age - that you cant contact these major brands direct in the UK !!!
Which, I suppose at the end of the day - means make sure you pick a good retailer !

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
I had a small issue with my BL6 which the retailer is sorting out. However, I think these issues are down to the manufacturer. Seems like they have decided that its so cheap to make in the Far East that they just churn em out as quickly as possible and then just sort out any issues through repalcement.
However I think that this devalues the brand, causes anguish to buyers and spoils an otherwise enjoyable experience of having a new tent.
I for one am willing to pay a bit more for products where the manufacturer takes pride in the quality of the product and is genuinely concerned about customer satisfaction ( as opposed to just saying they do). Having said that i think the Outwells are priced high enough for there not to be issues
Oh and it is also the reason why I didn't want the entire tent changed as the retailer offered as I didn't want to have to find defects in the replacement.
we had 3 Idaho Xl's last year before the perfect one and even that isn't perfect but is near enough. No problem replacing them but that was the retailer not outwell but after using the contacts button on hear someone from outwell did ring us and apologised, then said we the only people in the entire country to send our XL back which was quite true if you look on here.........

We are on our second one but not had it out of the bag yet, leaked like a sieve & even let water up through the ground sheet so I dont know where they get that idea from.

Try here if you want to contact them , the more that do the better chance they will respond.
Just wanted to add my opinion / experiences to this forum. We have just bought a Norfolk Lake, and I've got to say that I am extremely happy with it. It's not absolutely perfect, there are a couple of loose threads which I will tidy up, and two 2p sized spots in the polycotton which are a very slightly different colour - you can only see them from the inside, when the fabric is wet.
But, following a heavy soaking to weather the tent, there were absolutely no leaks, I've noticed no problems with quality of sewing on seams, and generally I am very, very pleased. I would say, based on my experience, purchase with confidence.

Its inevitable that with the amount of tents that Outwell make during a year that you will get some problems.
This is where a good dealer comes in.If you have any problems are not happy with anything then take it back and he should replace the faulty item/items.
The Outwell rep will call at the dealers on a regular basis, and he will then be shown the faulty tent and it will be taken/sent back to Outwell for analysis.
We have had 3 Outwells now and the only problem we have had was a small leak via a couple of seams, which was sorted out with seam sealer.
I can uunderstand Outwell wanting you to go through one of their dealerships. They send their tents all over Europe, imagine if everyone with problems started to phone them direct with problems.Think of the language difficulties alone.
