Hi there, I am sure I remember a post a while back about some improvements you had made to the front porch on your indiana. I am thinking of doing some thing similar to provide a little more shelter, but can't find your post. Can you help at all.

Thank you

Hi, It was me...........

I made a couple of extra side hanging parts to the front canopy using some ripstop nylon from ebay (I got about 10m for about 20 quid)  Item 140321681893

Basically made a rectangle of fabric and sewed on ties, to attach it to the poles either side and stitched some hanging fasteners to the existing porch to tie it under the canopy at the edges.....

It worked a treat!!

Hope this helps

Thank you so much. Yes I am going to give it a go. I was thinking I would sew the fasteners onto the porch by hand, avoiding the inevitable problems I have whenever I get the sewing machine out. Did you seal the areas on the porch you had sewn? Would normal sewing thread do the job, or did you use anything special. Sorry to be daft, but I don't want to spoil the whole tent by messing this up.

Thank you

Nors.

I just used normal sewing thread and stitched onto the zip fabric so not to damage the tent material, and over the edge material on the outside. however if you go along the seams there would be no harm done by sealing if you wanted to.

Give it a go, tents are not that scary to customise. I guess I'm just a bit less scared to have a play cos I have so many!!
