Hi there

wanted an Outwell Montana 6 but the front door 'sill' makes an awkward step-over for my disabled wife. disappointed....

So.....  we are looking for alternatives - spec is:- not too long a footprint, 6ft+ walkaround over most of space, a kingsize bedroom, and a junk room, light and airy, well ventilated for southern european climate

preferably not a vis-a-vis     - budget around £350-£450 including front canopy

Contenders so far Vango Columbia 600 and (just found on web) Kampa Filey 6

can't find a 'tested' review on either - will be trying to view some next weekend

plse...

anyone with experience of either contender?

any alternative to consider?

You might be better looking at a non SIG (sewn in groundsheet)then your wife won't have a big step to get over.Although the Montana does have a very high step in.It might be worth going to have a look at few to see if others with SIG are more accessible for your wife.

thanks Sue -  good info and a few leads to follow up

I can think of DIY ways round problem (what camper can't!) -- but i would prefer a built in solution

e.g. according to photos the Vango collumbia with SIG has the facility to fold sill flat against floor - and come-up again when required (need to see it first to confirm)

I would have thought that more tent manufacturers would have disabled friendly entrances for SIG tents by now

manufacturers plse take note
