I've posted on here before, and the advice I got was superb, so I'm hoping you'll come up with the goods again.
We go camping with rucksacks abroad, and so need a tent that's light enough and packs up small enough to get into a rucksack and carry. Up til now we've had a dome, but I'm getting on a bit now and a bit fed up of crawling around on my knees all the time, so a tent we can stand up in is required.
So my question is, can anyone recommend a min. 3 person tent that's big enough to stand up in but weighs between 5 and 8kg?
I look forward to any help you might be able to offer me!

Hello! Not sure what it is in cm, but anything over 5ft 6 would be good. I DO know that this is an almost impossible request, but I thought if I was going to find the answer anywhere, it would be here!
at 5ft six you would need at least 170cm to give full standing room
the vango omega 350 would be 155cm at the highest point which is not quite standing height it does come in at just under 5kg and it is just over the £100.00
when you start getting up to the full standing height around 170cm you may find a tent around 8kg but it would be a large pack size

What about the Outdoor Revolution 4 Lite touring tent? It's slightly heavier than you want at 8.8kg but has a height of 205cm and packs up small enough to fit in a rucksack.
Thank you all! I knew I'd get some great answers here!
I got VERY excited when I saw the Terra Nova Laser Space 5, and then I saw the price! Really big ouch! The GoLite ShangriLa 4 likewise. The Vango Omega 350 looks good, but I must say my favourite by a long way is the Outdoor Revolution 4 Lite. It looks JUST like what I'm looking for, and the slight extra weight is the price we'll have to pay for having a bigger tent.
We did a week in our small tent in Sardinia last year (fantastic campsite, by the way, if anyone wants a recommendation!), but half way through we were SICK of crawling around on our knees and sitting on the floor! I didn't exactly spoil the holiday for us, but it put a shadow over it. So I'm going to consider these tents, and anything else anyone might like to mention, and we'll take chairs with us as well this year. Weight/size/comfort is a difficult thing to achieve, but getting it right makes a huge difference!
Thank you all again for taking the time to reply! It's very much appreciated!
Tamworth have the OR 4 Lite for a great price.here it's showing out of stock but they are taking orders so might be worth a phone call re when stock is due. Why not buy chairs once you arrive rather than carry them with you ..?

That is a good price. Whereabouts in the country are you Dutchy08? Camping & General in Canvey Island, Essex have the 4 Lite on display at the moment. I was very impressed by the space and it is really quick & easy to put up.

That is the best price I've seen for that tent; I previously tracked it down to £95.
You make a good point about the chairs. The main reason we like to bring our own is because once we get somewhere we like to have everything with us already, and not have the 'hassle' of having to hunt down stuff we need in the shops. I guess we're just a bit lazy like that!
Hello LouM!
Ironically I'm originally from Essex, but now living in Gloucestershire, so Canvey Island is quite a hike for me these days. Thanks for the tip anyway, and the good review. It's always helpful to hear from somebody who has actually seen a product!
