Hi, went camping this weekend in my Karrimor 3 man tent and enjoyed it but learnt some things, me and my girfriend need more space and being able to stand up would be good.

So i am looking about for a tent that has at least two sections so that when i wake up i can go into the other room and not disturb the other half's slumber. I am 5 foot 10 ish and would like to be able to stand up.

Other thing is i have a kingsize silentnight airbed (untested, unsized) and if that would fit in a bedroom that would be a bonus.

Budget would ideally be under £100. Also would like to avoid getting a tent so big it incurs extra charges or does not fit on pitches.

Vango Solero 500 on Millets is half price and tempting. In another post someone said that the week starting tommorrow will see Gooutdoors do an great offer on Vango Venture 500 that i fancy just as much if it drops under £100 online for delivery.

Willing to listen to any ideas or advice... sure i will have more questions soon as this weekend was eye opening and we have to be budget minded : }

smiles and thanks

I bought A vango Solero this weekend (end of May).  I have a Vango Killington 600 which is great for longer breaks but needed something for the family that was quick and easy to get up and down over a weekend.

This tent is £200 in the Millets brochure.  In store for £90 and you can get a further 10% off if you buy on-line use one of the promotional codes available on-line (type in "millets promotial codes" into your search engine) - there is an entry box on the Millets website to enter the code.  Free delivery.

So a 5 man Vango tent for £81!

Only downside is it is exclusive to Blacks (which owns Millets - or at least the upmarket version of Millets!) so very little info on it both on the Vango site and generally on-lin.

the lack of info and reviews did put me off a bit as i got my karrimmor on advice and really like it, just need bigger.

go outdoors have the Vango Venture 500 reduced and it is a little bit bigger than the Solero, has general good reviews so swaying that way.

Hi Adam & welcome to the forum[:D]

A lot of members of this forum have recommended the Vango Venture 500 as a great weekend tent. Have never owned one myself, so I can't speak from my own experience.

I have been given great advice and links for Vangos from the fab ppl here in the forum. However my need is for a large family so am looking to get the Vango Diablo 900xp......probably a bit too big for you and your g/f adam!!!

Happy Vango hunting (and spending!! - good bargains being reported tho!).

It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.
