I love this tent not too sure about the extension though. No matter what we did we couldnt stop it from sagging it just doesnt seem to fit. What do you think?
I agree , it looks all wrong, its pulling the roof of the tent down out of shape. Did you try pulling it further forward so that the bit thats pulling the roof down was in line with the tent pole? Would the tent pole have then supported it better without denting the roof inwards?
I notice you call it a side extension , but its fitted on the front end of the tent. Does it fit on the side any better? probably not, looking at the angle of the curve that fits against the tent.
Is this the one thats called the tunnel extension ? it looks like its more suited to the types with the front porch to me .
I'm also a bit puzzled by why the front pole of the extension looks so much higher than the back pole nearest the tent too .
I think vango have made things really complicated for people with their extensions this year. there are no photos of the extensions attached to the tents on the website, and just lists of tents that they will fit on retailers websites which are really confusing.
The one called the tunnel extension looks like it would fit on the side dof the tent , not the front, but this extension is also advertised as fitting the tigris.
try emailing vango with the pic and see what they advise.
This extension is a nightmare the tent takes about 20mins to erect, the extension takes minutes to erect, but hours to try and fiddle with to get right.
If you move the elastic back to the front pole it leaves you with two big gaping holes on each side.
We tried to erect over the porch but the fabric at the top and the guy ropes are just not long enough.
When we bought the tent in March we were sold the extension to go on where we have put it on the tent. It is only after reading the posts on here regarding vango extensions did we realise there was various ones. I have looked at the bag it comes in and it says nothing more than extension.
I think I will take your advice Debbie and email Vango.

I was at the Sussex camping show on Saturday & they had that extension on (I think) a Tigris 600 & it looked exactly like yours all pulled out of shape. That extension you have is not the side extension; the side extension has steel poles, not as wide & is higher to fit over the middle of the roof. What you have there is the end extension & yes you have it in the right place but I’ve not seen one that looks as if it’s fitted correctly. IMHO I can not see why Vango wanted to build such an extension, with the Tigris 800 being 7.4M long, making it longer will have big problems at a lot of camp sites fitting into a 6M X 6M plot. Also you loose the use of the bedrooms at that end of the tent.

I thought that was the extension design that fits tents with porches, like the Diablo/Colorado/Killington? Rathger than ones with end doors that are really just the end of the tent. I have a Regular extension (bought for my Colorado, which it fits just fine) and tried it over the end door of one of my Oregons...it looked just as bad as your one and I decided that basically it just did not fit...because it wasn't designed to.
It's also not the side extension for any of the tunnel tents. The side extension has a long flap that guys over the roof of the tent. Got one too, intend to use it on the Oregon 800 this coming weekend. I'll post pix.
The only canopy from Vango that fits the tigris 600 and 800 well are the side extensions. I dont know where you purchased it from but a good camping shop would of figured this out and suggested the canopy you purchased is not a great fit.
Thanks for that Cross camping those extensions look much better.
I dont wish to sound a bit numb but I get my fronts and sides all in a muddle where this tent is concerned so please bear with me.
The two canopys you have suggested above would they fit the doors on the side of the tent i.e the one with the porch and the one that sits adjacent to it?

They are designed to fit over the door adjacent to the one with a porch, but I cant see any reason why they shouldn't fit over the porch as well or maybe one on each side if you need a lot of space.
Because of all the confusion I decided to go for the Gelert one instead which arrived yesterday, & after putting it up last night I'm glad I did. The flap which goes over the main tent looks a better shape than the Vango one & hopfuly there won't be such a large gap between the porch & tent (I have seen the Vango porch on the Tigris 800 & there was a gap of over a foot in places) garden not large enough to check this out so I'll find out in a few days when we go away on the 12th.

Good news I have spoken to the shop where we bought the tent and extension and the guy agreed with me that it is not the right extension for this tent and is more than happy to either refund or swap for another one that will fit
