Hi,
I'm looking at choosing a new tent but there is so much choice, if anyone has opinions on the following to help me narrow my choices it would be great.
Vango Colorado 800 DL £199.00
Vango Colorado 800 DLX £259.00
Coleman Modulus X7 £179.99
Coleman Evolva (Includes 2 x Bedroom annexe & Chef Annexe)£289.99
Gelert Meridian 10 £250.00
Coleman Matrix 9 £199.00
Vango Killington 900 £257.50
As you've probably guessed my budget is up to approx £250.00
Thanks Kay

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Hi . Looking at JR Leisure I assume !! It depends what your precise needs are . How many will be camping , and how would you prefer sleepiing arrangements. There is a strong Evolva following here !!
Hi, There are only four of us and a dog. I have two 6ft tall teenage sons so height is a consideration, also they are happy to go away with us this year but I'm not sure about next year. I have been looking at the evolva but am worried about the weight as we don't have a trailer.
My criteria is a good living space and enough bedroom/storage space.
Evolva would certainly address your height concerns as this is a tent with excellent headroom throughout.
Weight shouldn't be too much of an issue as the main tent and one sleeping annexe come in a saddlebag style holdall which can be unzipped making two lighter bags to handle. The other sleep annexe and kitchen annexe come in individual drawstring 'kit bags' and are quite manageable.
We get all our gear in our Grand Scenic , minus one seat . No roof box, no trailer ,and nothing above the back seat line, (well going , any way !! ). As for weight, not a problem ,as being in four parts, you can spread it around , and having two teenage sons should make pitching a breeze. Also , if you want to go away with out the lads ,you can take yust the main tent and a single sleep annexe. Or purchase a link annexe , and that would allow you a weekender or tourer option without having to take the main tent , as it joins two annexes together.
I'm pretty certain that is the 2008 model , as I've seen it advertised at that price. Suppose that the real difference is that the 2009 is finished in Beyond range colours . All things considered I would be prepared to save money if on a tight budget and take a punt on last year's model.
------------- Be seeing you!!

hi, I went to camping exhibition this afternoon, eliminated quite a few of my list either because of not being big enough or sloping bedroom walls. The tents off the list are
vango Colorado 800 DL £199.00
Vango Colorado 800 DLX £259.00
Coleman Modulus X7 £179.99
Vango Killington 900 £257.50
I guess the Evolva is still a contender!! Similar foot print to the Matrix 9 . Both would be excellent for you , but if you are on a budget , the Matrix is outstanding value at £200. If you want hight and flexibility , the Evolva is the one .
Hi Kay, Our teenagers don't come with us any more so we are selling a 4/5 berth outwell tent called winfield. The last time we used it and it was just the two of us we were able to leave one of the double bedrooms out for extra living space and were able to cook inside, stand up (my hubby is 6ft) and fit a 4 seater table and two chairs with room to spare. Winfield is light and airy and we've had it about 3 years and it comes with a groundsheet. For a footprint we just use a cheapo plastic tarpaulin and we've never bothered with a tent carpet - too pricey! I don't know where you are but we are looking to sell it for 90.00 ono. If you're interested in the details you should be able to google 'outwell winfield' Kate.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
