Can anyone recommend a polycotton tent, easyish to erect, and sleep at least 8 persons. I believe the Outwell Wolf Lake is too hard to erect, from reviews, and the Sprayway Canyon 8 polycotton has no skirt around the base allowing rain to come in.
Every tent I have found and think is going to be the tent for us seems to have a downfall, anyone help?

We have the outwell norfolk Lake (8 berth) which is a basic tunnel style tent, but has the Zig so no rain comes in the bottom.
Tunnels are quite easy to erect, as you put up the back pole, then stand the next one up and peg out, then keep doing this to the front. Very easy for 2 people.
There is a handy porch, for storage or cooking, 3 bedrooms, (3+3 at the back and an extra 2 berth in the living area)
We also have a random vango side canopy that helps to extend the living area (it sort of fits)
Thanks for all those everyone, Ktdaisy, you have certainly got us thinking about the Kampa tent, it looks lovely, will just have to find out if we can see one up at a camping supplies near us....we live on the Wirral so we have Liverpool, Manchester and Chester to look at!
You can see the Kampa Polzeath up and on display at Casey's Camping just south of Chester at the Grovesnor Garden Centre (www.caseysoutdoorleisure.co.uk). Its a lovely looking tent. Caseys have a good reputation too.
I can recommend the Biscaya vis a vis which is an 8 berth. Not polycotton, but all season polyester, you can hardly tell the difference between this and traditional canvas, except that it is a bit easier to care for. It still has all the qualities of cotton or polycotton in that it's breathable and nice to live under.
It's a high quality tent with thick PVC SIG, relatively easy to pitch with an internal aluminium frame, has two separate double inners on one side and a huge single inner with dividing curtain on the other. It's well ventilated (ventilated window at the rear and the front can be zipped back, if required. The integral porch is useful (would recommend use of additional sun canopy, which just zips on). The thing I like about this tent (we have one) is that, although roomy and a great bedroom arrangement - esp for teenagers - it's a good shape (not too faffy) and has a relatively small footprint and only has guy straps to front and rear, which means you can fit onto narrow pitches without problem. You can remove bedroom inners to create a larger living space, if you want, and the height is great throughout, since the bedroom walls have hardly any slope on them.
The downside is the price, and this year it is a bit astonishing!
Thanks everyone, we have been out to Caseys today and have decided on a Polzeath 8, looks like a beautiful tent, totally fulfils all our needs and was fantastic in the wind....very impressed....can't wait to try it out!!
