Just had our second outing in this tent. The elastic cord running through the poles to keep them together snapped on set up. Managed a repair (luckily the break wasn't too far from the end), but thought I'd share the warning with y'all! Metal poles win for me every time now.. none of these carbon and elastic jobbies .
Its just part of the price you pay for the convenience lightweight poles. Spare poles and elastic are cheap and readily available and should always be carried so you can do quick repairs on site if neccesary.
I have a couple of tents with non metal poles and I have been lucky to never have had any problems with them.
One of my friends recently bought a Nevada M and had the same elastic snapping problem. He was lucky enough to find a shop within a few miles with new chord. He's redone all his poles and hasn't had a problem since.
