I am worried I am getting carried away buying cheap tents (on ebay!). I have one quechua 4.2 for long holidays with my OH, an ohvee 2 man tent for a hiking trip to ten tors I am doing, and now just have bought and put up a pro action semi geodesic tent for hiking trips with myself and my OH.
Has anyone else got a terrible tent compulsion and fill every avaiable space with tents? Or try and find an excuse to buy a new one even though the others are just fine?

Yes. We've got a one-man-up-a-mountain one, a two man sleeper, a five person family tent and an 8 person behemoth. thinking about a utility tent to go with the 5 man. Oh, and two pop-a-bivvys and two kids pop-a-bivvys, though I don't think you can really count them!
Im looking to trade down from 3 to 2 again - - Got the Bear Lake for serious camping and the odd over indulgent weekend - Have a couple of budget tents too -
A Vango Idhao whuch is great for "not talking up any room at all" in the car ! and a Gellert Monsoon which I intend to keep as a back up tent ( its green so that makes sense - sort of )
So far it looks better than I thought. The weight is great and the fly has some sort of waxy type layer. I actually held a piece of fly from the repair kit under the tap and it held water like a bowl so I think its water reistent/proof. It could be 5000HH as claimed. It looks well built, things like the zips actually work smoothly and the there aren't any bits that hang out. The poles are alloy not fiberglass which is brilliant and the poles are serious too. They don't bend without serious stress put on them ie unlike other pegs that you can bend with your hands. I am going to say tentatively it is amazing value for money. I have not tested it yet with high wind but will do in august. the only problem is the colour a pastle green with silver. On the picture it looks dark green but that is all thats wrong with it so far. I am trying not to over sell it because I haven't been out in it yet.

I remember being intrigued by them when they were selling ion eBay and wondered if they would be any good - sounds like they could be worth the punt. Will be keeping an eye out in case more come on.
My first tent is a Vango Sigma 200+ which I find too small and too low for two.
Second tent is a Khyam Excelsior XL, which is a brilliant tent and ticks all the boxes for me, with the exception that I cannot pitch it up on my own, being only a whimpish female at 5'2. It is now a bit too big just for me and Borda.
My third tent is a Khyam Freelander, which is just the right size for us. The only (small) issue is the door being a bit awkard to close/open from the inside.
IF, and a big IF, Khyam updates the Freelander with a J side door, then I will be extremely tempted to get one!
I spec'ed and researched for suitable tents and bought them myself.
So I cannot talk!
