Hi,

was looking for some advice.......
I am after a new Pop Up Tent..... I had a cheap Eurohike Flash which was ok but had a tendency to leak through the groundsheet and the sides at the bottom.....
I have been looking at the Outwell Jersey S/M and The Outwell Alderney also the Gelert Quickpitch. I am unsure as to which one to go with. it is only going to be used as a one or two night tent for a max of 2 people.....But it will need to be hardy as i am a bit mad and go camping in wind snow or rain and at all times of year....
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

The Outwell Jersey S and M are on offer at the moment at Yeomans. At £44.95, I would go for the M . I have the S and it is a cracking little tent .

We have the Gelert, waste of money, they are not double skinned, we used it a couple of weeks ago, lovely weather, but in the morning everything was soaked through because of condensation. The door does have mesh, so we thought, ahh leave the door open a bit to get some air through, but the door is on a slant, so if it rained you would again get soaked, 1 use and in the bin it went.

I would pay the extra to ensure of a double skinned one

we have the jersey m. It is a cracking tent and the double skin makes all the difference. Quechua also do double skin, often a lot cheaper but the poles are a lot thinner and it all feels a lot less stable in stromg winds. But with thinner poles you can pack the tent up a lot smaller. If you can fit the large disc that is the outwell in your car i would go for that cos it seems a lot more sturdy but if space is at a premium get a quechua and save some cash.

Loved this thread-- may go look at that Outwell Jersey(m). Have a 2-man touring T.T Comi Camp. If I were to take the g.kids they could have the main bed & me & dogs have the pop-up in awning. Thanks

We have the Vango Dart ds, it just fits the 2 of us in, the dogs would have to sleep on top of us but it wasn't too constrictive.

It's also double skinned and has a proper groundsheet unlike the Gelert ones.

I was really taken with the Vango Karakum when I saw one at Go Outdoors a few weeks ago. It's a pop up, but with two 'rooms', so you could either sleep 2 in each section, or use one section to sleep 2 with an equal sized porch area. Fantastic for £49.47

I love the quechua tents - have 2, the base seconds and the 4.2.  I like them better because of the standing room.
