We've just bought the sunncamp shadow polycotton - which is basically the same size/layout as the Khyam Missouri except £100 cheaper! As it's the same size as the Missouri, we wondered whether to invest in the Khyam sun awning - the one with the zip out front? It's the first time we've had a tunnel style tent that doesn't have an integral porch and are wondering how things will be in wet weather?

Does anyone else out there have a similar style tunnel tent - what is your experience in wet weather - would anyone recommend the porch awning? Is it big enough to use as a kitchen area, or is it really just a wet coat/boot storage area?!

I've also seen that Kyham do a larger 'annexe' - does anyone know if this will fit onto the Missouri (aka Indiana) and again, what's it like?

Thanks!

We use the Khyam Sun Porch awning with our Missouri.  It can take a bit of effort to align properly and can sometimes slip in wind weather.  It needs 2 people to do it properly and it can be a bit fiddly getting the flysheet over the tent.

However once fitted it provides decent shelter around the tent door and gives some heat retention to the main tent whilst also preventing drafts and rain entering..  We use it for cooking (the whole front of the porch can be unzipped if necessary) and there is enough room to use it as a kitchen, plus have room for storage.
