Thanks for all your suggestions. The three main suggestions are the Vango Orchy, the Outwell Nevada M or the Outwell Carolina. Are these all fairly similar in quality etc or is there anything I should be watching out for? For example are they all good in strong winds & rain or are they like an oven in good weather etc?

Also, Fi, you mention that you have switched to canvas tents now. I have seen that they are more expensive but are they that much better?

Thanks.

Hi, the main reason I switched to canvas wasn't particularly for the canvas , more the shape of tent that I HAD to have I love pyramid tents!

I really love the canvas now, but they are so expensive this year! Obviously there are pro's and con's, canvas last a long time if looked after , where as the nylon tents have a much shorter life span, but obviously this is reflected in the price. Nylon tents are easier to dry out, canvas a real pain! One thing I really miss is the lovely sound of rain on the nylon tents, not the same in a canvas tent!

Another route you could go down would be to look at second had tents!

This website has all the info you could ever want regarding camping! If I was you I would set an evening for a glass or two of something nice and do lots of research!

Thanks for your help Fi. I always thought buying a new tent would be easy but the minute you start looking you realise that you have a lot more questions than answers haha. Thanks everyone.

The Vango Orchy is so popular that it has its own appreciation thread on here! Check it out and see what the others think of it.
