So you don't have to spend a furtune on a quality tent.

And yes, I'd love a Bear Lake too but can't seem to find a second hand bargain like the Cabanons 17

Don Valley outdoor centre just outside Doncaster has some on display indoors. Pricey tents but very nice, one of the few shops ive been in that sells and has on display trailer tents too.

I'd love to be able to buy a brand new Cabanon. Every time I go to Casey's, I drool over the Tabora they have pitched. But until I get that long overdue lottery win.... 17

I'm picking up my first Cabanon tomorrow. It's an Andorra with sun canopy from ebay, so fingers crossed it's all I hope it's going to be. I'm booked in for a week in North Wales next week,, so there's just enough time for a test pitch and change of tent plans...

Bought our 1st Andorra new in 1995 for 450 been in gales, downpours you name it it stood up to the lot until someone forgot to dry it from one of it's outings.

Ever only leaked once above the cooker which was soon fixed with the emergency ducktape

Bought a 2nd hand one from Ebay last year for 150 because our local Cabanon dealer was taken over by Yoemans :(

They're great for 2 adults who like loads of space and always camp in the rain and a kitchen area you don't have to look at all the time you are in the tent as you can curtain it off.

I just love the heavy canvas type tents as they are so much studier and quite in the wind - give me a Cabanon any time

I think you hit the nail on the head - so to speak

Any cotton canvas tent will be quiet in the wind -  warm of a cold night and cooler of a hot sunny day -

I really dont follow this obsession that exists for "nylon" type tents - YES they pack up small - YES they are cheaper - and YES they are "arguably" more water tight - but at the end of the day - I dont want the condensation - the flapping about in the wind - the lack of privacy - and the lack of warmth you get with Nylon type tents - sorry - I know this post will get hate mail - but its a fact and unless your a backpacker - mountain climber - or just doing camping on a budget - then PC is the only way that tents should be

I would never return to to a nylon type tent after having canvas due to the very issues above, especially the wynd but if nylon is the only option, would rather go using one that staying home.........

We paid 1,290 for a new Cabanon Biscaya 440 from Highbridge.I would say after 20 hours of continuous rain at Lower Treave near Lands End,we could never have spent the money more wisely. While other tents were leaking & getting blown all over the place. The Biscaya was like a rock, also no leaks.Agree it is expensive but we have been camping for almost 10 years & this is the best tent we have ever owned.
