We have just been away for a week in wind and rain in our vango tigris 800 and loved it. It stood up to the awful weather brilliatly. Compared to our last tent (outwell) that leaked like a sieve it was great. Not been in the Gelert so cant advise on that one but would recomend the vango.
We put the large bedroom with the partition on the end without the door and a small bedroom on the other side. This means the large door on the end could still be used and we have added a canopy to that end to do our cooking in.
The Tigris is a lovely tent, no complaints here whatsoever with it. It's very versatile - lots of different ways you could have the bedrooms.
I haven't seen the Gelert so can't comment on that, but doubt that you would have any problems with the Tigris. Have you been able to see one in the flesh? I would strongly recommend doing that if you haven't already.
Can whole heartedly recommend the Tigris 800. We are a family of 5 and find this tent very spacious for our needs . It has stood up to some torrential downpours last time we used it and we remained cosy and dry.

I'm defo no expert and was going to buy the meridian 10 but came across a great deal £100 less at Go Outdoors £199 (which has just ended..........sorry) and opted for the Hi Gear Kalihari 8 which is essentially a Meridian 8. Hi Gear is an off shoot of Gelert and I have successfully put up in less than an hour on my own today. The tent appears to very spacious (family of 4) and I have a friend who has a Meridian 10 who highly recomends it.........................good luck
Not that it helps, but having started off this year being a fan of the Vango Tigris , have become a supporter of the Khyam Ontario , which offers more space , higher grade fabric , and better extension options, all at under the price of a Tigris. However, the Nevis could be the one to beat from Vango, but you are adding to your costs , but again get 5000HH, steel poles , blue tent with black roof, and available with black extension in a package for around £385 . Confused? You will be!!
