Hi all I have just bought one of these tents, they said in the shop that i have to weather the tent as Its obviously new. But i thought you only had to weather new canvas tents. any advice would be greatly helped before i put the tent up in the garde and spray it with the hose lol!

As far as I know it's only canvas that needs weathering. Might be an ides to put it up in the garden anyway so get the feel of it and you might find it will get weathered without the need for a hose!

Poly tents dont need weathering and it sounds like the person who sold it to you had no idea what they were talking about which is a little worrying considering that they work in a camping store 17

I would do a practice pitch and if you feel the urge to wet it and check for leaks then dont fight it but the tent does not need weathering.

And of course a practice pitch will help when it comes to pitching it for real :)

We have one of these and will be testing it out next weekend.  What I do recommend that if you have a big enough garden is do a dry run and follow the instructions as when you are ready to lift the tent and fixed the back you need to make sure the poles are pointing the right way.

Haven't weathered it so fingerscrossed and no wind it should be fine.
