I went to Go Outdoors today to get a look at a Nevada 3 in the flesh and if I get a decent price on Ebay for my Oregon, then I very well may buy it (I left my purse at home today - it half killed me but needs must LOL!)
But what's the story? It isn't on the Outwell site, it doesn't match any other Outwell tent in colour for this season anyway - they are all mocha or sage, not blue. And I can't find it for sale anywhere but Go Outdoors. So is it a Go Outdoors special, and if so, is it likely to be up to the usual Outwell Quality, bearing in mind the very bargainous price?

I've found the quality excellent - all the usual Outwell touches. No issues whatsoever with mine - I'm absolutely thrilled with it.
Don't know if it was a 'special' but at one time you could buy it at Millets and Blacks as well as GO - there seem to be an assortment of Nevadas - 3, 4, M, L, XL (I think!!) But the 3 is now discontinued I believe so if you like it, grab it while you can!
Disabvantages as I see them are -
Only one door
Door slopes so rain would be an issue when opening the door
Although bedroom pod is plenty big enough for a double airbed, it really only fits well across the tent and is a squeeze front to back.
You can't get a carpet or footprint for it anywhere.
However, the Vango or Aztec canopies fit and solve the door issue. Also if you can pick up a Vango Tamor 500 carpet it's a pretty good fit. I used an old 2.5 x 3.5 groundsheet folded to size as a footprint.
It's an absolute steal at the price IMO - get back with your purse and buy one!!!

With a double airbed in, do you think there's enough room left for a dog or 2? I wished they'd put beds in the display model so we could see such things!
I need to get paid before I can go back with my purse, I'm praying the stocks last that long!
I have my Outwell universal side canopy which I'm told is a good enough fit so that's the sloping door issue sorted.
Yes there'd be enough space for your dog(s) if they are little!. With a dooble airbed going across the tent there is space at the end of the bed - about 50cms and a bit of space down the side - about 40cms. I have had my airbed going from front to back but it's a suqeeze but gives you an area of about 180 x 100cms at the side of the bed. When I took mine down this afternoon I took out the inner tent and thought that it would be fine to use the tent without the bedroom pod and that would give loads of space - just a thought.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of buying a front canopy as well, see fostermum's post below regarding the door problem with this tent, to keep the rain out!

Merry - I agree that the door design and rain is an issue. But, I don't think that it is any worse than many other tents, including all of the other tents that I own ! Granted, this tent has only the one door, and with others you may have an alternative option. But I have always, long before buying a Nevada 3, used a canopy over the most used door on my big tents.
In essence, I think that it's a bit unfair to say that this tent "has a problem", implying that it suffers from something which does not apply to other tents.
I think that guidance to anyone buying just about any tent that has a slopey door and does not have a built in canopy should be made aware of the need for some rain shelter.
I don't think that it's unfair to say the tent "has a problem", it does have a problem in that it only has one door and that one will flood water in if opened if you haven't stumped up for and pitched a separate canopy. IMO that's a valid point about the tent that should be mentioned. The fact that some other tents have the same problem doesn't really make it any better when you're mopping up the water off your groundsheet does it?
There are plenty of other, often cheaper tents that don't have this problem, the VV500 which is cheap and cheerful has this problem with the front door but also has a side door that is flatter and usable in the rain.
It gets a bit tedious on here when folks "big up" their own tents whilst being absolutely unable to make any sort of objective assessment of them.

Fair enough, the door issue (better word?) is one that the Nevada 3 shares will all other dome or tunnel tents which only have one large, front panel, door. Dealing with this problem is exacerbated if the tent also has a SIG, as it will then be harder to get back out any water that comes in!
Anyone who buys a tent of this design should bear this in mind and be prepared to deal with puddles in the tent or buy and always put a covering canopy or buy a tent with a second, personal door where the rain ingress will be less of a problem.
Is that fairer? I've had two tents in the past which only had the big flappy front door (Khyam Freelander, old school Khyam Classic) and hated those doors in wet weather, so perhaps I'm overly conscious of the problem and wanting to alert others to the situation. The Outwell Nevada 3 does have some nice features but it seems some people are seeing the brand name and the clearance price and just rushing in. I saw a Nevada 3 on display at GO in the rain and it did look a rather sorry sight, unfortunately.

Big up ? Unable to make any sort of objective assessment ?
Where's the "big up" and lack of objectivity in the words "I agree that the door design and rain is an issue." and "..... including all of the other tents that I own."
For me, the tedious bit is when folks launch into print without having bothered to read the previous comment properly.
In any event, I think that Merry's subsequent post states the position admirably, as I too hate the design of these doors, regardless of whether it's on my wonderful perfect tent, or anyone else's.
Could it be that the Nevada 3 is a "sample tent" in the same way that last year the Iowa was a sample tent? Last year I bought my Iowa in blue and there no additional bits and pieces available for it. This year, they've obviously decided to run with it, brought it out in green and you can purchase a canopy/carpet/footprint for it?
BTW the Iowa suffers the same problem - you need a canopy or else the rain comes in. But I'd still big it up for being a really easy tent to erect and spacious and airy with it.
I'm panicking cos it appears to have gone off the website, but they had a good few in stock in Stockport at the weekend. I just need to wait till I've been paid - not long now!
